Admission Requirements
for Bachelor’s Degrees
All bachelor’s-seeking students are required to have a secondary school diploma with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of “C”. The admission office might request a national ID or birth certificate, an interview, and an admission fee. Parental consent might also be required.
Application Intake for a Bachelor’s Degree
The university has two semesters, and each semester it takes new students. Semester one starts in September, and ends the first week of January. Semester two starts in February and ends the last week of June. Applications are open in January and July of every year. For specific closing and opening dates, they will be posted on the university website and social media accounts. For further information, contact the Admission Office or call the main university phone number and ask to talk to the admission office.
Diploma Degree Requirements
Diploma-seeking students are required to have a secondary school diploma, except students studying for the National Secondary School Examination Diploma (NSSED). If students do not have a secondary school diploma, they are required to enrol in the NSSED program to qualify. For all certificate-seeking students, there is no secondary school diploma requirement.
Application Intake for Non-Bachelors
All non- bachelor’s degree programs, such as the diploma and the certificates, are on a rolling basis based on the availability of space for students.
Transfer Students
Transfer students are accepted on an enrolment basis, depending on the availability of space.
Cost and Affordability
Mogadishu Polytechnic University strives to make the cost of education affordable to most of our students. The university provides limited scholarships and tuition support. The MPU
provides high-standard academic quality and campus support comparable to what students might receive in the USA, and since MPU is an accredited non-profit university, our tuition is a fraction of what other universities of MPU’s academic standard charge students.
